15 Month Old Baby / Toddler Update

How am I writing Jasper’s 15 month old baby update already?! He is 15 months old today and walking pretty well now so he is definitely a toddler (even though he will always be my baby). I say this at every single stage with Jasper but he is just at an amazing age at the moment. He’s learning new things every day and understanding more and more and it is so amazing to watch. I love looking back at these updates* to see how much he has changed and I hope they might be useful to someone wanting to know what to expect with a 15 month old.

My Story of Group B Strep Infection – Group B Strep Awareness Month

The Group B Strep Support charity focuses on raising awareness of the Group B Strep (GBS) infection in babies during the month of July. Although rare it is the most common cause of infection in newborn babies so I thought this would be a good time to share my experience with GBS and raise some awareness too.

6 Tips For Weaning Your Baby Off Night Time Milk Feeds

About a month ago, we decided that it was time to start trying to wean Jasper off milk feeds in the night. Before this he could be awake up to 6 times in the night and wanted milk up to 3 of those times. As he is breast fed, I needed to do all the wake ups with him and I was starting to reach a point of complete exhaustion after 11 months of little sleep. It was really starting to affect my mood and ability to function throughout the and with my return to work looming we decided that this would be a good time.

Overall he has done really well with this change. Typically he will now have his bedtime milk between 6pm and 7pm and then next have milk between 5am and 6am so this is quite a big improvement fo us compared to what it was before. I think only once in the last few weeks have I caved and given him milk at 4am. Generally his sleep has also improved a little bit, he does still occasionally have up to 3 wake ups in a night or periods of being restless but it has still got better. Also because he doesn’t have milk in the night anymore it means daddy can help more in the night which has been useful more me to try and catch up on some sleep.

Just for a full disclaimer even though Jasper s playing in his cot in the picture below, he has never slept a full night in there. He has pretty much co-slept with me since he was about 4 months old because he was waking up so regularly it’s the only way I could get any sleep. I secretly really like that he sleeps in my bed so I can watch him sleep and we can we extra cuddles.

My Breastfeeding Journey – Breastfeeding For Nearly A Year

Hi everyone, as I am nearly a year in to my breastfeeding journey (I can’t believe Jasper will be one next month!) I thought it would be a good time to reflect on my experience and share my story on here. Overall I have had such a positive breastfeeding experience and I feel so incredibly grateful that I was able to breastfeed Jasper at all, let alone for so long. I felt really passionately about wanting to breastfeed so I thought by sharing a positive experience it might help break some of the stigmas surrounding breastfeeding and help someone that’s pregnant who wants to breastfeed feel like they are able to. I know that breast is best but ultimately as long as your baby is fed, you have to make the decision that’s best for you and your baby and it doesn’t matter if you are unable to breastfeed or choose not to.

What I Eat Whilst Breastfeeding and What My 10 Month Old Eats In A Day

Hey! I’ve not written a ‘What I Eat In A Day’ post for a while and I really enjoyed doing the last one so I thought write an updated version. Jasper has actually just turned 11 months but I took these pictures about a week ago when he was still 10 months old and not much has really changed in how he eats in that time. I am still breastfeeding Jasper but he is having much less feeds than the previous post, although still quite a few, and I am slowly trying to wean him more. Me and Jasper eat basically the same meals now so I have also included what he eats. It’s usually presented slightly differently but its pretty much the same as what I have cooked for myself. If you want to know how Jasper’s eating has changed, I wrote this post of what Jasper ate when he was 6 months old.

The New Mum / Mom Tag 2019

Hello! I have seen this tag going around on Youtube for a few weeks and, although I haven’t actually been tagged, I really liked the questions and wanted to give it a go! I love being a mummy to Jasper and that this also means that I can now answer questions like these. I hope you enjoy reading my answers to these questions and I’d be fascinated to read your answers if you decide to take part.

A rare picture of me looking presentable in actual clothes and make up!

Baby Update – Jasper At 9 Months Old

Hello! I haven’t written a baby update post since Jasper was 5 months old, which you can read here, so I thought it was about time I wrote another. He has grown up so much in the last couple of months so I really wanted to document what he was like now. I’m sure I probably said this in the last post but Jasper has got the cheekiest personality and he makes me laugh all the time now by being silly. He is definitely becoming more independent now that he can move around more easily and he really knows his own mind and what he wants. Jasper is 9 and a half months as I am writing this (which is slightly later than I was hoping for because I have been a bit poorly, on the mend now though!).

My Post Partum Fitness So Far – 9 Months Post Partum

Hey everyone, so last week was the first time I felt like I could start doing some proper exercise since Jasper was born. I decided to get all of my old gym gear out that I used to wear before I was pregnant and it made me feel really good putting it back on. I am back at my pre pregnancy weight (because Jasper doesn’t stop breastfeeding!) so the main reason I want to get back in to exercise is so I can start to feel strong again. I also think it will do wonders for my mind as well because I used to feel so good when I went to the gym. So far I have just managed a few home workouts using Youtube tutorials but I guess you have to start somewhere!
