What My 6 Month Old Baby Eats in a Day

Hi everyone! Following on from my previous two posts here and here all about preparing babies first foods, I thought it would be good to share what Baby Jasper eats in a day now that he is 6 months old. From the previous posts you will now that he has been weaning on to solid food since he was just older than 4 months. I now offer him 3 meals a day with milk on demand as well. It can be a bit hit and miss with how much he eats each time, sometimes all and sometimes nothing and sometimes just the finger food or just the mashed food! I hope you find it interesting seeing what he eats on a typical day.

Jasper’s food today.

08:00 – breast milk

08:30 – For breakfast he had some ready brek made with breast milk and he ate about half of it. He also had some peach slices as finger food. I like to try and offer him some water with each meal but I don’t think he has very much of it!

10:30 – breast milk

12:00 – He had mashed sweet potato with lentils and avocado and cucumber sticks as finger foods. Now that he is 6 months old I like to try and give him 1 ‘protein’ meal a day usually at midday and today he had lentils as his protein.

17:00 – For dinner he had mashed white potato with sprouts and baby corn as finger foods (sprouts are his fave, so he usually always eats these). I also mixed in some vitamin d drops in to this meal which he needs because he is exclusively breastfed.

This was everything Jasper ate this day until his night time feed. I hope this has given you some inspiration of what to feed your 6 month old and I would love to hear what your some of . your babies favourite foods are to try on Jasper.

Thanks for reading, Jen x
