What I Eat in a Day Whilst Breastfeeding

Hi Everyone, today’s post is a what I eat in a typical day. I thought you might find it interesting to have a nosy at what I eat whilst breastfeeding (which is a lot!).

For breakfast I had apple, cinnamon and date porridge made with almond milk. I also added some chia seeds and pea protein powder to make it extra filling.

For lunch I had a chunky sweet potato, leek and lentil soup. I love making a few portions of this and having it a couple of days in a row. On this particular day, I had some leftover avocado that also needed eating up too so I chopped it up and threw it on top. I have a theory that this soup stops me from getting a cold because I add curry powder and garlic to it but its probably just been a coincidence that I don’t have a cold after I eat it! I also had some leftover smoothie from the day before (the picture is making it look like chocolate milkshake though) which had berries, spinach, banana, various seeds and almond milk.

As an afternoon snack I chopped up some red pepper in to sticks and had them with hummus.

For dinner I ate a spaghetti bolognese made with soya mince, carrot and celery. After dinner I also had a hot chocolate made with almond milk and water.

As a bedtime snack I had a slice of almond butter on toast (I forgot to take a picture of it though).

For drinks throughout the day I kept filling up my water bottle. I also had a breastfeeding multivitamin and that was everything I ate that day.

I hope you enjoyed finding out what I typically eat midweek whilst breastfeeding and that it might have provided you some inspiration for some different meal ideas. Also I would love to hear what your favourite dishes are because I like to get new ideas too.

Thanks for reading, Jen x
